What Happens After You Become "Born Again?"

After becoming born again, God's Word - the Bible says that you become a new creation in Christ. Everything from your past, the old things, the baggage, the sin, the nonsense and so on passes away. All of it becomes dead and all things become new.1

Remember that regeneration that happens to a person when one becomes born again?2 The above is part of that, and all of it happens at once.

So now you have confessed your sins to God and He has forgiven you. You've accepted Jesus as your Saviour. You are born again and all things are new.
Are you going to feel different? Some people do. Some people don't.
Some people do not feel anything after they become born again, and that's ok. It's not about feelings. (That is very very important to know and abide by.) It's all about His forgiveness and salvation in Christ, not feelings.

On the contrary, some people do feel God's presence right away sometimes right at that moment of conversion. That's ok also and believe me it's a great feeling but again, feelings are not what we go by.

Here's something to remember, feelings go away but God never does. No matter what we are facing in life, if you've become born again, God will never leave you nor forsake you.

Now that you have given yourself to God, you are saved from eternal life in hell and are now heaven bound. Yes, when you pass away, you will be with the Lord for eternity.Isn't that awesome to know?

Ok, so let's move forward. The next steps are to get acquainted and to begin building a relationship with God.
Think of it as a Father and son or daughter relationship
because He is now your Father. You, in turn, are now His son or daughter.4

This is the ultimate Father and son/daughter relationship. This is your true Father who will never let you down. He always keeps His Word. He will never lie to you. He will never knock you down but only build you up and make you strong if you allow Him. He says this in Jeremiah 29:11,
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Now that we know all that, how do we begin to get acquainted with God and begin building our relationship with Him?

Step one is to begin reading His message to you and me - The Bible. God our Father speaks to us by way of the Bible. He gave it to us so that we can become instructed and thoroughly equipped in every good work.5

A great place to begin reading is the book of John. It is also called the Gospel6 of John.

The book of John provides many answers to questions you may be asking about your new relationship with Jesus. It will also provide you with answers you may have about Jesus, himself.

Step two is to begin asking Him questions and talking to Him from your heart. Let Him know what you fear, what you don't fear, your doubts, what you ought to do in situations and the list goes on. This is called having fellowship with God or praying.

As He speaks to you through His Word, you speak to Him from your heart. This fellowship establishes and builds up your relationship with God our Father.
One additional and very important thing to know is to always stay and be in fellowship with Him.
Keep it consistent and natural. Don't make it a chore. On a daily basis and throughout the day stay in fellowship with Him7 so that your connection with Him stays solid.

If you veer off, get back on track. If you fall, get back up and keep moving forward toward Him. He knows your heart and He loves you and will forgive you if you call on Him with a true heart.8

If you have any questions about anything at all please shoot me an email via the website. Everything is kept confidential and no one sees the email except for me. I'll respond to you asap.

Have a great day in-Christ and stay strong!
