The Truth!

truthbetold
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
-1 John 1:5 KJV
God is light. He is truth and there is no darkness whatsoever in His character.
To His children He says I know the thoughts that I think toward you. Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). That's the truth.

Wanna be His son or daughter?

To those who do not believe He says I love you so much that I gave my only begotten Son, Jesus, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). That's the truth.

Wanna take this opportunity?
To those who stand in the middle He says “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth (Revelation 3:15-16 NLTse). That's the truth.

You don't wanna be that person.
The above information is pretty straight forward. It's not politically correct and does not cut corners. It speaks the truth.

God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If you would like to come out of the darkness and into the light, then do so today, this very minute. This decision of turning to God through Jesus' sacrifice will be the best decision you've ever made.
If you've given your life to Jesus, shoot me an email via this blog.

In Jesus' name!

Getting Together with other Believers: RISK Night

Risk Night All
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near
-Hebrews 10:24-25 NLTse
God's Word, the Bible, encourages believers to get together so that we can encourage and motivate one another. It further says to not neglect meeting together.
What does this mean exactly?

It means exactly what the scripture says, but many may think that we can only meet at the church.

Believers can meet anywhere to fellowship and encourage one another. At church, at a home, a designated location or wherever the Lord places on the heart. The main thing is that we get together to encourage one another. We need that on a consistent basis.
You might ask the question 'what do we do when we meet?' 'Do we just sit and read our Bibles and pray?'
That's actually not a bad idea and actually our getting together to encourage one another should start with prayer and reading of the Word and then fellowship.

Gathering together with focus on Jesus is always an encouragement.

Last evening a few of us believers gathered together in the evening to eat some hot dogs and chili beans and play an all night game of Risk with movies playing in another area.

We had two game tables going to accommodate all who were partaking in the game. One game lasted from 9pm - 2am and the other continued until 4:10am.

Pretty crazy stuff, but everyone had a great time (from my assessment ;) BTW, congrats to Jared and James the winners of the Risk competition.

This time of gathering together not only fulfilled application of the Bible (Hebrews 10:24-25) but it also instilled on those present that God is totally ok with us having a great time together.
Have an awesome day, stay strong and if you haven't already done it, encourage someone today!

He Stands at the Door and Knocks

food for the soul
Wow! The Lord is so good. Yes, He is a good, good Father. Beyond any goodness that any earthly father can bring. And, He is always there for us. Day or night, 24/7 and everything else. He is always there.
Jesus said...
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me
(Revelation 3:20 NKJV)
Jesus is always there for His children. You and I who have given our life to Him. Even when we stray He stands at the door of our heart knocking and ready to provide us with His spiritual nourishment.
The Lord even goes beyond that. He will give us a full meal of His word then He provides us with dessert. This is the after nourishment delight to our soul after we commit ourselves to Him.
The Psalmist loved this dessert. He put it this way...
How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth
(Psalms 119:103 NKJV)
If you've gone astray or have done anything that has caused you to be distant from our good, good Father then come back to Him today. He is there waiting for you to open the door.
Come back! Get Strong!
