Have You Ever Been Wronged?

In the book of beginnings, Genesis, there is a story of some brothers who, in a very evil way, wronged their younger brother Joseph.

They did this because of jealousy and hate that they had toward him. The initial plan was to kill him, but that plan shifted and Joseph ended up being sold to passers by. Joseph then ended up in Egypt under Pharaoh as a servant to him.

Joseph's brothers told their father that he was killed by an animal out in the field and that he had died. This was to cover up their sin.

(Note: If you would like to read the story of Joseph in its entirety, you can find it in the book of Genesis chapters thirty-seven through fifty.)

Joseph experienced a lot of hardship from the day he was sold into slavery to the day he became second in command to Pharaoh.

Joseph suffered through many things:
  1. Extreme hardship due to peoples' jealousy and lies
  2. A wrongful conviction which lead him to be imprisoned for quite a while
  3. Emotional trauma as he went through the nonsense
  4. And much more...
One thing stands out though, and that is that he kept his faith in God through all the mess. He didn't waiver but instead kept his sights on the Lord.
Not only that, Joseph forgave those who wronged him and his story tells of the compassion he had toward them. (AMAZING!)
Have you ever been wronged, experienced emotional and physical hardship due to lies and jealousy and anything else that has come upon you because of the world's nonsense?

Place your full faith and trust in Jesus with all your heart, soul and mind and God will get you through it just like Joseph.

It may be a long haul, but God's promises are true to His children - He will never leave us nor forsake us.

At the end of it (and even through it) you will rejoice in the Lord and speak the words that Joseph voiced to his brothers:
"But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day" -Genesis 50:20 NKJV
God bless you brothers and sisters in-Christ!

Stay Strong! Stay Focused!

-Ruben
