BIG YARD SALE - UPDATE!

All glory to God in Jesus' name. The High School Camp Youth Fundraiser was a huuuuuuuge success! Thank you to everyone who helped and donated items. Thank you Jack and Kendrena Fuller for allowing the youth to use their super huge yard!

We all had a great time working together and assisting the yard sale customers. The place was packed from beginning to end. Also, despite it being super hot all week, the Lord provided a cloud canopy for us for most of the morning.

As I spoke to some of the youth, I was so super encouraged as I heard them speaking about wanting to serve the Lord. One would like to be a full time minister of the Word while another spoke ideas on how to promote the Wednesday youth group.

Bros and Sisters in Christ, please pray for this generation of young believers for protection of heart and mind. That as they grow and mature in life that they would continue to be and stay strong in Christ.

"As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." -1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV)

Warrior Generation: Dustin the Wind

It's always a blessing to listen to my young brother-in-Christ teach the Word of God in Jesus' name.

My bro simply wants to be used by the Lord and all to His glory. Dustin expounded Genesis chapter  twenty-seven.

In this chapter we saw a lot of deceit and lies. A son flat out lying to his father's face and even using the name of God in that lie. A mother and son scheming against her husband, his dad and more.

The chapter mirrors typical actions that we see in the world, current day.

Dustin shared a passage that tells us what the Lord thinks about lying and deceit...

"A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth; He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers; Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually,He sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.
These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren." -Proverbs 6:12-19 NKJV
Lord help us to be obedient to your calling and to omit what does not conform with You. In Jesus' name!

Bean Dip and Strawberries at Rainbow

The entire time I thought it was a Father's day gift from my wife but little did I know it was an early anniversary getaway.

Either way, Estella and I had a great time relaxing and taking it super easy.

On Friday we took off early from the house and stopped by the store to get some goodies for the trip.

Then, on the road we went. After about an hour we arrived at our destination...

...but still had to travel a few more miles into the hills our final destination. Finally we arrived.

We traveled the path to our lodging space and as we walked we noticed a mini Radio Flyer on the fence. Upon entering our room we noticed a really cool looking radio and wall to wall books. It was different but totally cool

The next day we went out on the town to a place called Myrtle Creek and Old town Temecula...

Then back we went to our lodging space.

The following day, our last day away which was Father's Day, we ate breakfast provided by our bed and breakfast host then off we went to pick Strawberry's.

Finally, we got into the car and drove back home. Thank You Jesus! for a super great time with my wife.

POST - Harvest America at RPM Brakes & Auto Repair

First, all of us at the Cobbler House would like to extend a super special thank you to all our brothers and sisters in Christ who prayed for the event. It was super great!

This was the first time being a host site for us and it went super smooth. We came in early cleaned up then set up. Jorge purchased a used projector that worked super well. It even looked really well with the little bit of sunlight that was coming in via the skylights.

The gospel message of Jesus Christ was great. Please pray for Pastor Greg Laurie as the enemy of souls hates those who preach Jesus.

So what happens now that this is over? We keep pushing forward spreading the Gospel of Jesus.
All who attended the event were invited back to the Cobbler House Thursday night Bible study that we have every week at RPM Brakes and Auto Repair.

If you are seeking to know about Jesus, a mid week Bible study, need prayer or encouragement come on by to the Cobbler House. For more info go to the Cobbler House page.

If you'd like to check out today's event, take a look at the video below from the Cobbler House Facebook page...

All to the glory of Christ!

Warrior Generation in Action!

We had a special guest at the Cobbler House this evening - Joseph. The message was great and very encouraging. He's one of the next generation of Jesus people.

We veered from our regular teaching in Genesis to Hebrews 12:1-14.

Here's a bit of what Joseph shared:

- We must endure and also learn to rely on scripture for our daily walk.
- Placed emphasis that God is in control of all things.
- We shouldn't fear the discipline that comes from God as it is to build us up not knock us down.
- As believers, we are called to be set apart. God calls us to be holy as He is holy.

...and much more.

At the end, He left us to ponder the following passages:

"For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men"
-1 Peter 2:15 (NKJV)
and

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
-Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)
There was one more, but I forgot the passage in Thessalonians.

Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ, please pray for the next generation of Warriors for Christ to stand up and be strong in the Lord!

Lord, we lift up the next generation to You. Make them strong and unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name!

Father of Mercies and Comfort

Good morning everyone! Just read through a wonderful passage that brought me much encouragement. I pray it does the same for you. Check it out...

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." -2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NKJV)
Our Heavenly Father of mercies and God of all comfort will bring us through any tribulation - great or small - that we may be going through.

In turn, by our Heavenly Father's strength, we can comfort others "who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

Heavenly Father, please comfort us this day and help us to get through through it with joy and Your Heavenly peace. Also, use us to comfort and bless someone today. In Jesus' name!

Stay Strong! Encourage someone today!

Steps To A Great Relationship With God: Step 2

Receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life is step one of Steps to A Great Relationship With God. The first step is crucial as there is no other way one can have a relationship with the God but through Jesus Christ.

"Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." -Jesus (John 14:6 NLT)
The second step to a great relationship with God is to fellowship with the Him on a daily basis by way of prayer and reading your Bible. This prayer and reading combination acts as one, but we will discuss prayer within this post and reading your Bible in step three.

What is prayer?

Prayer is simply calling on the Lord daily at any time of day or night about anything and everything such as:

- When you are anxious1
- When you are weak2
- When praying for someone3
- When you are worried4

...and the list goes on. It's never ending and as you read through the Bible you will see many examples of prayer.

Prayer is important because it builds up your relationship with God. Not only that, it makes it a great relationship. The more you call on the Lord the closer you will get to Him.

The Bible tells us to rejoice in Him, pray consistently and to give thanks to God in everything for that is His will.5

Think of it this way. The more you speak and share your concerns with someone the more they get to know you and same is the opposite. On the contrary, you may see someone all of the time and say hi and bye but you really don't know them. This would be called an acquaintance.

God our Heavenly Father is not an acquaintance but rather our Heavenly Father who desires a relationship with you and I that's far beyond being an acquaintance.

Also, each and every individual's relationship with God is personal just like receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour. It's only between you and Him so call upon Him on a consistent basis.

How does one pray?

You can pray out loud or from the heart. You can pray with other believers or alone. It does not matter as long as you are calling on Him from the heart.

What's the proper prayer stance?

-Sitting
-Standing
-While talking to someone (if you can multi task)
-While laying down
-Basically any stance is fine. You can be standing on your head and pray, lol.

God is not looking at your prayer stance. He is looking/listening to your heart.6

One final thing. If you feel you are not praying correctly, don't worry as the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us and God knows our heart.Simply call on Him as you would to any person.

Prayer combined with reading equals fellowship with God. In step three, we are going to discuss reading the Bible and the importance of it. We'll also discuss how prayer and reading turns into fellowship with God.

Step three is coming up soon so stay tuned.

Note: I must mention that these steps are only a guideline not actual steps that you must follow.  Pray to the Lord in a manner that is comfortable to you but mean it from the heart and don't waiver8 for He does listen to the prayers of the righteous9 - that's you.

If you would like to share some scripture regarding prayer, please do so in the comments section below.

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." -Ephesians 1:2 (NKJV)

-Ruben

1 Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

2 Romans 8:26 (NKJV) "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

3 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NKJV) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

4 Matthew 6:33-34 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

5 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

6 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV) But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

7 Romans 8:26 (NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

8 James 1:6 (NKJV) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

9 James 5:16 (NKJV) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Don't Miss The Opportunity!

Hey everyone. I'm unaware of what time zone everyone is in but here in the states our day status is Sunday!

Sunday is seen by many as the day to go to church. Seekers, believers and unbelievers alike attend church service at different locations across the country/world.

Today is the day! Sisters and bros let's take this great opportunity that the Lord has given us to go to church and have fellowship with other believers.

"but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." -Hebrews 3:13 (NKJV)
Not only that - let's seek out those we may not know so that we can share Jesus with them.

Things we can do today/Sunday at church:
  1. Smile at someone. Don't look like you just ate a lemon. A simple smile brings joy to a person.
  2. Shake someone's hand and introduce yourself.
  3. Encourage someone. This may change a course of life.
  4. Pray with someone.
Those are just a few things we can do today/Sunday. There are more of course - be creative. Ask the Lord what He would have you to do.

(By the way, we can do this everyday!)

Holy Spirit help us to be a light to our brothers and sisters in Christ and anyone else you may put on our path. In the name of Jesus, we ask!

Pray, Read, Apply - No Compromise!

Steps To A Great Relationship With God: Step 1

Having a great relationship with God brings great peace to all who have been born again in Christ.

All Christians face the many stresses of life. Some of us will face heavy duty trials and tribulation during the course of our lifetime. Some, not so much. Whatever the case may be, there is a way to experiencing peace through anything we face in life and that is by having a great relationship with God our Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

So how do we establish this great relationship with God?

The first and foremost step to having a great relationship with God is to fully, with all your heart, mind and soul accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

There is no other way to God but through Jesus.1

Because of Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection, we have access to God the Father directly if we confess our sins and turn our life over to Him.2

The way to do this is to acknowledge in your heart that you are a sinner and that you fall short of the Glory of God.3

The second thing to do is to ask God for forgiveness for all sin in your life.4 Once you’ve done this, God washes all your sins away5 and you become a new person in Christ.6

(By the way, once you are forgiven then you are forgiven. The Lord will never throw your past sins to your face to make you feel guilty.7)

At this point you have become born again.8 Not only have your sins been forgiven by God, but also when your body passes away, you will be heaven bound and present with the Lord.9

What I’ve mentioned above is the first step to a great relationship with God. Without this first step, it will be impossible to have any relationship with God.10

If you would like to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, simply call on Him today. Don’t worry about what you’ve done in the past or feel that you need to clean up first. Simply come as you are and the Holy Spirit will do the rest.

If you have already established a relationship with Jesus in the past, but are struggling, today is the day to come back to Him. Simply ask for forgiveness with a true heart and then push forward toward Him. He will take care of the rest.

Step Two of steps to a great relationship with God is coming soon so stay tuned.

If you’d like to share additional scriptures that pertain to this, please do so in the comments section.

God bless you!

-Ruben

1 John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

2 Romans 10:8-10 (NKJV) But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

3 Romans 3:23 (NKJV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

4 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

5 1 Corinthians 6:11 (NKJV) And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

6 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

7 Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV) “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.

8 John 3:3 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

9 2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV) We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

10 Isaiah 59:1-2 (NIV) Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

Why Does God Allow Bad Things To Happen?

Survey question is 'What question would an unbeliever ask relative to life and the Bible?'

One response to the survey...

"If God is good and He exists then why does he allow so much bad in the world?"
That's a super great question and I'm pretty certain that some believers in Christ also ask the same question.

First words that came to mind after reading the question were...

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." -Jesus (John 3:16-17)
The answer is that God allows bad in the world because bad people choose to do bad. They kill, destroy, hurt and much, much more. They do this everyday and it affects unbelievers and believers alike.

On the opposite side, there are people who choose to do good. They help, protect, give and much, much more. This they do everyday and it affects unbelievers and believers alike.

Both bad and good are allowed by God. Now, even though this is true, our Heavenly Father/God does not condone bad. As a matter of fact, He hates evil.

"Let none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor; And do not love a false oath. For all these are things that I hate,’ Says the Lord.” -Zechariah 8:17 (NKJV)
Since the beginning, God has given human kind the ability to choose and since the beginning human kind has made both bad and good choices.

Something to think about is that God did not create us as a robot such that He programs each of us to serve and love Him. See, His love for us allows us freedom. And indeed, everything is doable but not everything is beneficial. This stands for the believer.

"“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others." -1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (NIV)
The one to blame for bad in the world is the individual who does the harm not God.

Bad people are going to do bad stuff because bad is in there nature. But, always remember that even that worst of the worst, the bad of the baddest all have opportunity to be saved "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." -Jesus (John 3:16-17)

For the best inspiration on this topic, begin reading through the Bible and you will begin to notice God's exposition of the matter.

If you have any encouraging Words from the scripture, I encourage you to jot down in the comment section that we may all be encouraged.

Thank you Lord for Your Word - the Bible. Help us to understand it and to get to know You better.

In Jesus' name! Stay Strong!

-Ruben

    Peace For Today

"Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." -Psalms 62:1-2 (NIV)

This Psalm of King David is so to the point and accurate.

King David experienced both turmoil within and, as he states above, rest within his soul.

The peace within in the midst of all that was going on around him he experienced when he would stop and focus on God.

There is much peace for the soul of those who abide in Christ Jesus.

We must make an effort though to call on the Lord, read His Word and put faith into action.

Slow down a bit in this crazy, fast paced world and sit with the Lord. Read of His goodness and promises to the believer and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you to overflowing with His peace.

Thank you Jesus for all You do! Help to stay focused on You today and everyday!

    Stay Strong brothers and sisters!

Do Not Provoke Your Children to Anger

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord." -Ephesians 6:4 (NLT)

It would seem that provoking your children to anger would be a very minor thing from the perspective of man. 'It's all in fun' we might say. But, apparently it was an issue as the apostle Paul calls out to Fathers to abstain from this type of behavior.

Totally understandable. Young minds are super impressionable and our words and actions affect our children. I'm not a child psychologist or anything like that. I know this because I was young once. Anger causes damage.

So what's a father to do?

Rather than provoking a child to anger, the apostle Paul says to bring up our children in the discipline and direction that comes from the Lord.

This he spoke hundreds of years ago, but it still applies to us today.

Through prayer and guidance from the Lord, let's attempt to be the best dad to our children. Let's teach them the way of the Lord and guide them to what is right and just in the eyes of God.

Our children are the next generation of believers...

"“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up." -Deuteronomy 6:4-7 (NLT)
(Yes, this applies to Gentiles also.)

Heavenly Father, help us to be a light to our children and to bless them according to Your calling.

If you have any encouraging scripture, don't hesitate to jot it down in the comment section below.

God bless you and stay strong!

    -Ruben
