Have You Ever Been Dried Up (Spiritually)?

When you get a chance, read Ezekiel 37:1-14. The passage provides and excellent example of dry bones, being apart from God and finally reviving after being all dried up.What a great description we have here in verses 1-14.
This reminds me of times when I'm not in my Word nor praying/fellowshipping with the Lord regularly.
I get all dried up (spiritually) because I lack the living water which makes me alive and refreshed. My physical body even feels dried up and shriveled down to the bone when I choose to be apart from the Lord (even for a little while).
Have you ever felt that way? Whether we admit it or not, I'm sure we've all experienced this dry spell.
So how can we avoid these dry spells? Well, from experience, I simply say to stop everything and get into God's Word. First, ask for forgiveness for being away from Him then begin reading His promises to us like the Psalms.
When I begin reading, even though I'm all dried up inside, He eventually brings an overwhelmin…

The Good & The Good: God's Desire for All

"But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases."
-Psalm 115:3 NKJVPlain and simple, He just does. For those who have a personal relationship with God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, all that happens to us is so that we can get closer to Him, to get stronger & to build us up.

Check out the following passages and tell me if its not so:

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose"
-Romans 8:28 NKJV

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope"
-Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

For those who do not have a personal relationship with God, He desires that you do. He loves you so much that He sent His only begotten son to die for you and I that we may live. Check out the following passages from the Bible:

"For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore …

Why Is Good Friday So Good?

Have you ever really thought about why we Christians declare Good Friday as Good? Funny thing, I never really thought about it either so I did a little research to confirm what, way in the back of my mind, I've always thought it meant. My research confirmed my thoughts about Good Friday, but it seems strange that we would declare Jesus' death on the cross as Good. Would that be an oxymoron?
Anyway, as strange as it seems, Death and Good in regards to Good Friday is very, very Good in regards to the human race. Because of Jesus' death on the cross, we (the entire world) now has opportunity to repent and come to a personal relationship with Jesus.
You know that awesome, very popular, verse "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life [1]"?  It applies to Good Friday.

Are You Ready To Share or Defend The Good News?

Fellow brethren and sisters, are you always "ready [or prepared] to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear"? [1]Yes, upon giving our lives over to God, we are immediately called to action.
Of course, there is a time of studying and learning before we begin sharing the good news of Jesus. But, once we become familiar with God's good news to us, we must then become ready to share His good news with others for the purpose of winning them over to God unto salvation.
There are many examples in the Bible that point us to this. For example, 1 Peter 3:15, which is the passage shared above. It says to be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks.... Another passage says that we are ambassadors of Christ called to share His word with all [2]. And many more. (Challenge: see if you can find more passages that tell us to share His good news and post them below.)
So how do we prepare for this? We prepare just like we prepa…

Wife Submit, But What About The Husband?

"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord." [1] Now a days, I'm sure this statement is considered extremely radical by those who don't believe and even by some who believe in Jesus.Although I love the non-believer and hope and pray that all would come to know Jesus, I am not to concerned about what they think in regards to this Biblical statement.
The non-believer wouldn't spiritually understand as the Bible says "the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing" [2].
My concern is for the brethren; my fellow brothers who have come to know the Lord and have professed to follow Him.
Believe it or not, many brothers-in-Christ take the "Wives, submit to your own husbands" passage and twist it around to take advantage of the wife. Abuse, both physical and mental can come from twisting this passage around.
I believe this happens because the believer is not praying, reading and studying his Bible. He may have acknowledged Je…

Experience Pleasure

The Bible says that "The works of the LORD are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them." [1]Go outside and you will notice the works of the Lord. Look up into the sky, stare at the ocean, play in the snow, view the mountains from afar and you will see that the works of the Lord are great.

Enjoy the view a little longer and you will be even more amazed as you begin to think about our great and awesome God who created all these things.

The word pleasure (as seen above) can also be defined as a desire or longing or that in which one takes delight [2]. This delight can only be experienced by one who has experienced salvation through Jesus Christ and is applying the Word of God into his or her life.

What are you waiting for? Leave all your cares to Him and be experience the great pleasures only God brings.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever." [3]
