Sin Revealed! Positive or Negative?

As a believer/follower of Christ, what do you think follows after the Holy Spirit reveals sin in your life? Do you think it is a positive thing that He revealed it to you or do you think it is a negative thing?Today I listened to a great message by the late J. Vernon Mcgee. He spoke on Isaiah 6:5 which states "Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts [1]" (Isaiah speaking).
Mcgee triggered a thought within me that opened up my heart (again) to the Lord's awesome goodness toward us. It has to do with His light shining on us so great that the more we give ourselves up to God, the more He reveals to us whether good or bad.
Isaiah said he had seen "the King, the Lord of hosts" and realized he and everyone else were people "of unclean lips".
When one comes into relationship with God many things are revealed to us which …

Even The Demons Believe...

The title of this post, I know, sounds a little bit out of the ordinary (even for me). But, it has to do with reality and so it must be brought up so that we can be aware of who our enemy is and what he is all about. The subject of satan and demons is not taken seriously by non-christians and sometimes christians. As christians, though, we need to be aware that there is such a thing as satan and demons and this dude and his minions are out to deceive and destroy those who follow the ways of Christ.
One way that satan and his demons work is by causing complacency in the body of believers. Complacency happens when the believer becomes so enamored with himself that he simply goes through the motions of the christian life.
There is no action except for what has to do with 'me, myself and I'.
Some signs of a complacent believer are: No prayer life because 'I'm saved now and there is no need''I don't need to read the Bible because I'm saved and there is no need&#…

Forgiveness After Having Gone Astray

Jerusalem had gone completely astray. Way far away did they venture from the Lord, and Jeremiah was very distraught and discouraged, but deep inside he had hope.Even though he wept and pondered the outcome of Jerusalem, Jeremiah knew that God would ultimately bring them back to recovery.
All he had experienced with the Lord, he couldn't deny Him because he knew that "Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your [His] faithfulness -Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV.
Yes, Jerusalem brought this trouble unto themselves. They were the cause of it and boy did they pay. They strayed from the Lord and that is not good.
Believer, have you ever gone astray and placed yourself in a mess? If you haven't that's great, keep your eyes focused on Jesus that you never go astray.
I have gone astray in the past and its not fun at all. It's terrible actually. Connection was lost with the Lord and in His great me…

Are You Going to Sleep Well Tonight?

I read a Bible verse last week which spoke to me so powerfully that I knew I had to write it on the tablet of my heart. I even sent it out to my family that morning and asked them to memorize it with me.That morning the Lord was already speaking to me about what was going to happen that evening and the evening after that if I simply abide in Him.
The passage He showed me is Psalms 4:8 which reads "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."
The Lord spoke to me as He does many times that if I simply abide in Him and seek Him first above anything else, He will provide me with peace and comfort within.
You can tie the Psalms 4:8 passage with Matthew 6:33. Guess what that one says? You're right. It says to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
Do you ever experience nights where you just can't sleep because you are worried about something? Or, you're stre…
