Is it all about Me, Myself and I?

Image
Do you ever catch yourself being a selfish Christian? Are you withholding the gift Jesus has given you and keeping it all to yourself? If so it's time to change that thought... That goes for me too!

"The Spirit gives us gifts so that we can serve Christ and His church “for the profit of all” and not for our own selfish enjoyment" (Wiersbe, With The Word: The Chapter-by-Chapter Bible Handbook).

"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all" 1 Corinthians 12:7 NKJV

Constant Commo with Jesus

Image
Why do we need to be in constant communication with Jesus?

1st, God tells us to "pray without ceasing" -1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV

2nd, The enemy is in a constant search and destroy mission to devour the Christian who has been born again.

God tells us to "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" -1 Peter 5:8 NKJV

Be Serious in your Prayers

Everything can be taken away from our person, all the way to bare nakedness, but the ability to use our God given gift of fellowship with Him can not.

Oh how important it is for us believers to be in prayer. Sometimes we lack to use this greatest gift.

"But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”"

                                                                                    -1 Peter 4:7-8 NKJV

There are dozens of Bible reading plans out there. For example, read through the Bible in one year plans, two year plans and on and on. To easy. Blueletterbible.org and Youversion.com offer some great reading plans.

What to do? First, find a reading plan that best suits you. Second, begin reading the outlined chapters for that day. Repeat steps one and two the following day and keep going until you finish the plan.

By the way, before you read, don't forget to ask the Lord for understanding.

God bless you.
