Pray For All Leaders

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." -1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV

From Gang Life to Life in Christ

Image: Pastor David Zamora Interview (Video Below)

A few questions I have asked people that I've shared Jesus with is 'if there is no God, can you tell me what has happened to all these millions of people all over the world who preach Jesus?

Why are they preaching Jesus? Are they/we all crazy? Do we have some type of weird virus that all of a sudden makes us like minded and makes us want to share the good news of Jesus?'

This video contains a testimony of a gentleman, Pastor David Zamora, who was once into the gang life and was later radically transformed by Jesus.

Pastor David Zamora is interviewed by Pastor Brian Brodersen of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. This interview brings to light God's affect in someone's life who questioned Jesus and soon received an answer that transformed his life. Wow! How did that happen?

Check out the video and be encouraged.

BTW. If you don't know Jesus today, from your heart, ask Him to reveal Himself to you. To show Himself as He has shown himself and transformed the lives of millions of people who have openly received Him as Lord and Saviour of their life.

Get Grounded Again! Final Lesson

Get Grounded Again! Saturday, October 14, 2017

Ok, so I say this every time - what a super great time I had at Bible study this morning. At this last meeting of our eight week series on getting grounded again with the basics, it was only my youngest son and I who reviewed the lesson.

Although we plan, Jesus has the master plan!1 It was super nice studying the Word together with my son.

Today's lesson explained the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as one. Amazing stuff, but the scriptures explain it well.

Nathan and I also discussed how each one of us has to develop our individual relationship that we have with our Heavenly Father.

The more fellowship we have with our Heavenly Father the stronger our relationship becomes with Him. For example, no longer do we feel distant from Him and how it is much easier to come to Him in prayer and reading. Similar to a father and son relationship. (Ah, His master plan! How awesome it is.)

The Lord got a hold of me many, many, many years ago, but I'm still learning so much from Him.

If you get the opportunity, I encourage you to do a study on the foundations of faith either with a group, another person or your self. Open your heart to the "basics" and you will be super blessed.

Pray, Read, Apply: No Compromise!

About The Cobbler House

Inside the Cobbler House

A while back, a group of us got together to brainstorm names for our Thursday night Bible study at RPM Brakes and Auto Repair.

Many names were placed on the table and many were tossed out of the table, but one remained - Cobbler House.

People I've had a conversation with about the name have told me that it reminds them of a peach cobbler or some kind of pie. I can understand that. Many do associate the word cobbler with some type of pie.

The word cobbler also has another meaning though. It is a title given to a person who repairs shoes. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a cobbler as such:

"a mender or maker of shoes and often of other leather goods"
The slogan that follows the Cobbler House name reads 'Refresh Your Soul and Heal.' This matches up with what a shoe repair person does - they repair soles and heels of shoes.

On the Cobbler House side of things, the word 'Soul' is used in place of 'sole' to depict the inner side of one's person that the Bible refers to as the soul.

The word 'Heal' is used in place of 'heel' to depict the effects of receiving care from a physician to become healthy once again.

The 'Cobbler' depicts Jesus who is the healer of souls, hence when you read, pray and study His Word - the Bible - your soul receives healing and is refreshed once again.

At the Cobbler House, we read, teach, pray and study through the Bible together, book by book and verse by verse. And, we teach it in a way that is simple to understand.

As the late Pastor Chuck Smith would say simply teach the Word simply. That's what we do.

That's the story of The Cobbler House: Refresh Your Soul and Heal.

If you would like to join us on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings or both, pick up your Bible and come on down. Don't forget to bring a friend.

God Bless you and Stay Strong!

Get Grounded Again: God's Will In Your Life

Get Grounded Again was super great! Nothing compares to receiving the Word of God early in the morning.

Everyone received a good dose of the Word, as we read and discussed the scriptures within our lesson. The end result - a group of SUPER ENCOURAGED believers!

We took a look at scriptures pertaining to knowing and doing God's will from the Start to Follow Manual. Some scriptures that we took a look at and discussed were:

Titus 2:11-13
1 Thessalonians 4:3
Colossians 3:8-9
Colossians 3:12-14
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
If you would like to join the discussion and fellowship, you are totally welcome to stop by. Make sure to bring a friend.

The Flesh is Weak!

Image: Bible App

Jesus told His disciples, Peter, James and John to "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” -Matthew 26:41 NKJV.

Like the disciples, pretty much all of us lack precision when it comes to watching and praying. We really, truly want to stay in prayer, but our flesh drags us down.

Not to worry.

A great way to resolve this is to discipline ourselves, with the Lord as leader and guide.

Out of the twenty-four hour day/night, set a block of time to call on Jesus and stick to it. Do not do this as a chore or make it a ritual. Do it because you really want to have fellowship with the Lord.

Day by day, don't waver with calling on the Lord. Push through even when you don't feel like it. The flesh desires are super strong and will weigh you down, but the Lord knows your heart and He will help you to stay strong in your faith in Him.

In time, you will notice the fruits of fellowship with Jesus - temptation will be easier to push away, you will begin to experience joy, you will notice a peace that surpasses even your own understanding and the list goes on.

Push the flesh aside, and begin to watch and pray today, right now, then begin to enjoy the blessings He has bestowed upon you.

Call to Action: Pray For Mexico!

Image: Nicolas Raymond

Hey everyone! Let's join together throughout the day, everyday, to pray for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who reside in the areas of Mexico that were hit by the earthquakes.

I'm not sure of the accuracy, but The Guardian states 230 confirmed dead and a lot of devastation.

Let's pray for strength and guidance in their own needs and also on the needs of everyone affected. Let's pray that all will call on the name of Jesus!

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men" -1 Timothy 2:1 NKJV
Thank you Jesus that we can call upon you at any time. Please help our brethren affected by this disaster in Mexico. Show them that You are there, despite what it seems. You are in control Father, help us all to abide in You. In Jesus' name!

Stay Strong!

Shout for Joy all the Earth!

View at 6:30am from Saturday Get Grounded Again!

"He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Breakforth and sing for joy and sing praises. Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, With the lyre and the sound of melody..." -Psalm 98:3-5 NASB

NO JOKE! If you want to be set free from all the foolishness this world places on us - anxiety, depression, all the nonsense that's going on - then you really need to give your heart, soul and mind to Jesus today.

Jesus has made it so super simple to call on Him. There is no excuse for you not to also be able to enjoy His salvation, joy and peace today.

Drop a note below or text at 909 499 9116, if you have any questions regarding Jesus.

God bless you!

Serving at Skate Church

Had a great time serving Jesus with my friend Scott at Skate Church last evening.

Shared a message with the scooter/skaters about choosing friends from a biblical perspective.

Believers, please pray for Scott and the skate ministry that the Lord would touch many kids through it and build up a new generation of skaters for Christ!

FYI, if y'all have kids that skate (scooters or skate boards, no judging here, Lol) and live in Redlands or the surrounding area, bring them by.

Skate Church has a vast area to skate on with plenty of ramps. And, they will also enjoy a time of fellowship with a good news message about Jesus.

Skate Church meets on:

Saturday Evenings: 6pm-8pm
Wednesday Evenings: 6pm-8pm
If any questions, contact the Packinghouse.

Stay Strong in Christ!

Relax and Trust Jesus

Many of us who are always moving and doing can at times miss out on something the Lord may want to show us.

This can even happen when serving within a ministry. Every day life events can cause this as well.

So what should we do so that we do not miss out on blessings from the Lord?

The Bible says to...

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” -Psalms 46:10 (NLT)
Indeed, sometimes we absolutely need to slow down and meditate on His Holy name and His promises to us from the Bible.

This can be done by simply stopping what you are doing, sitting down, closing your eyes and calling on Jesus to help you relax and adjust your mindset onto the correct path - His path.

Believe me when I say that Jesus will indeed take care of everything. As a matter of fact, the more we place our focus on Him the smoother our daily life of moving and doing will go.

You have probably read the following verse already...

"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." -Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
If you have not. Know that this is something Jesus said. Take His promise to heart and run with it, that is, apply it into your daily life.

By seeking the Lord first and foremost beyond everything else, not only will He will provide all that you need, but He will make your day run a lot smoother.

I have experienced two ways of living life (as a Christian) 1) seeking Jesus first and 2) seeking my way first. The former always, without blemish, wins out.

Take the time to daily seek out Jesus by reading His message (the Bible) and calling out (praying) to Him. You will definitely notice a major difference in your daily life of moving and doing.

May our Lord richly bless you and keep you strong!

Get Grounded Again! Introduction

View from Bible Study Location (6:45am)

Get Grounded Again! was great this morning. My friend Jorge provided an introduction to the study and a brief overview of the booklet we will be using for the next seven weeks.

The intro touched on the big question asked by many who have been born again... Saved! Now What? (So I'm saved from eternal punishment (Romans 5:9-10) and now I'm heaven bound. What do I do next?)

The answer to the big question is the following:

- Begin to pray or call on Jesus. Get into fellowship with Him and begin building up that super special relationship you now have with our heavenly Father.

- Begin to read your Bible. Jesus speaks to the believer by way of His Word. And, you won't be disappointed as you will notice that the answers of life are all in the Word of God.

- Find a Bible teaching church where you will be encouraged by the Word of God being taught and other believers. Iron sharpens Iron -Proverbs 27:17

- No longer live for yourself, live for our Heavenly Father. "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." -Romans 12:2 (NLT)

- Begin to share Jesus with others. Let others know not only through your actions, but also through words the good news of Jesus Christ. Share your testimony and what He's done in your heart.

- Don't slack. Don't allow the trials of life to distract you from serving the Lord. Instead, allow Jesus to guide you through them and keep your full trust in Him and Him only.

Throughout this week we will be working on chapter one and will discuss the scriptures referenced at our next meeting.

God bless you and Stay Strong!

Get Grounded Again! 3 Days To Go...

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. According to the countdown timer on our website, we got three days and nine hours to go before our first Get Grounded Again Bible study.

Just wanted to mention that this back to the basics Bible study is not a men's only study. Both women and men are invited to join us during this time of study of the Bible and fellowship.

A Little Preview

As we go through the Start to Follow study, we will also answer questions that many people ask such as:

  • What am I being saved from?
  • How do I know I'm truly going to Heaven?
  • Why do I have to read the Bible?
  • Is Jesus truly the only way?
  • How many times can I be forgiven?
  • Can I lose my salvation?
  • And many other questions

At each meeting, we'll gather up one question per person. We'll take the questions home and research the Bible for the answer. We'll jot down our findings and bring back to the next meeting so that we can share with the group.

Hope you can join us!

Great and Mighty Things Still to Come

Jeremiah heard the following words from the Lord while he was "still shut up in the court of the prison, saying1"

“Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name): ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’2
This was a message of encouragement to Jeremiah from the Lord during that specific point in time.

There is a specific point in time that each and everyone one of us, individually, arrives to where we need that encouragement from the Lord as well.

Jesus is not slack to provide that encouragement as was provided to Jeremiah so we must take advantage of this gift of being able to call on the Lord directly.

'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know' applies to the modern day believer (i.e. you and me) also. We know this to be true because God's Word says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.3

If you are feeling 'imprisoned' today, call on Jesus and experience the great and mighty things that He has in store for you.

God bless y'all and Stay Strong in the Lord!

Have A Great 4th of July 2017!

"On July 4, 1776, the thirteen colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Each year on July 4th, also known as Independence Day, Americans celebrate this historic event." -Military.com

Even though there is a lot of negativity going on in our country today, don't give up on it. The Bible says...

"...to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth." -1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NLT)
Each of us has a separate calling in life, but we're all called to pray. Fellow believers let's do the best we can at what we're called to do and together pray for those leading our country.

Thank you Jesus for the freedom you've given us both in country and spirit!

Have an awesome 4th of July 2017 everyone! Stay safe and enjoy your freedom!

All glory to God in Jesus' name. The High School Camp Youth Fundraiser was a huuuuuuuge success! Thank you to everyone who helped and donated items. Thank you Jack and Kendrena Fuller for allowing the youth to use their super huge yard!

We all had a great time working together and assisting the yard sale customers. The place was packed from beginning to end. Also, despite it being super hot all week, the Lord provided a cloud canopy for us for most of the morning.

As I spoke to some of the youth, I was so super encouraged as I heard them speaking about wanting to serve the Lord. One would like to be a full time minister of the Word while another spoke ideas on how to promote the Wednesday youth group.

Bros and Sisters in Christ, please pray for this generation of young believers for protection of heart and mind. That as they grow and mature in life that they would continue to be and stay strong in Christ.

"As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." -1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV)

Warrior Generation: Dustin the Wind

It's always a blessing to listen to my young brother-in-Christ teach the Word of God in Jesus' name.

My bro simply wants to be used by the Lord and all to His glory. Dustin expounded Genesis chapter  twenty-seven.

In this chapter we saw a lot of deceit and lies. A son flat out lying to his father's face and even using the name of God in that lie. A mother and son scheming against her husband, his dad and more.

The chapter mirrors typical actions that we see in the world, current day.

Dustin shared a passage that tells us what the Lord thinks about lying and deceit...

"A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth; He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers; Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually,He sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.
These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren." -Proverbs 6:12-19 NKJV
Lord help us to be obedient to your calling and to omit what does not conform with You. In Jesus' name!

Bean Dip and Strawberries at Rainbow

The entire time I thought it was a Father's day gift from my wife but little did I know it was an early anniversary getaway.

Either way, Estella and I had a great time relaxing and taking it super easy.

On Friday we took off early from the house and stopped by the store to get some goodies for the trip.

Then, on the road we went. After about an hour we arrived at our destination...

...but still had to travel a few more miles into the hills our final destination. Finally we arrived.

We traveled the path to our lodging space and as we walked we noticed a mini Radio Flyer on the fence. Upon entering our room we noticed a really cool looking radio and wall to wall books. It was different but totally cool

The next day we went out on the town to a place called Myrtle Creek and Old town Temecula...

Then back we went to our lodging space.

The following day, our last day away which was Father's Day, we ate breakfast provided by our bed and breakfast host then off we went to pick Strawberry's.

Finally, we got into the car and drove back home. Thank You Jesus! for a super great time with my wife.

POST - Harvest America at RPM Brakes & Auto Repair

First, all of us at the Cobbler House would like to extend a super special thank you to all our brothers and sisters in Christ who prayed for the event. It was super great!

This was the first time being a host site for us and it went super smooth. We came in early cleaned up then set up. Jorge purchased a used projector that worked super well. It even looked really well with the little bit of sunlight that was coming in via the skylights.

The gospel message of Jesus Christ was great. Please pray for Pastor Greg Laurie as the enemy of souls hates those who preach Jesus.

So what happens now that this is over? We keep pushing forward spreading the Gospel of Jesus.
All who attended the event were invited back to the Cobbler House Thursday night Bible study that we have every week at RPM Brakes and Auto Repair.

If you are seeking to know about Jesus, a mid week Bible study, need prayer or encouragement come on by to the Cobbler House. For more info go to the Cobbler House page.

If you'd like to check out today's event, take a look at the video below from the Cobbler House Facebook page...

Warrior Generation in Action!

We had a special guest at the Cobbler House this evening - Joseph. The message was great and very encouraging. He's one of the next generation of Jesus people.

We veered from our regular teaching in Genesis to Hebrews 12:1-14.

Here's a bit of what Joseph shared:

- We must endure and also learn to rely on scripture for our daily walk.
- Placed emphasis that God is in control of all things.
- We shouldn't fear the discipline that comes from God as it is to build us up not knock us down.
- As believers, we are called to be set apart. God calls us to be holy as He is holy.

...and much more.

At the end, He left us to ponder the following passages:

"For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men"
-1 Peter 2:15 (NKJV)

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
-Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)
There was one more, but I forgot the passage in Thessalonians.

Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ, please pray for the next generation of Warriors for Christ to stand up and be strong in the Lord!

Lord, we lift up the next generation to You. Make them strong and unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name!

Father of Mercies and Comfort

Good morning everyone! Just read through a wonderful passage that brought me much encouragement. I pray it does the same for you. Check it out...

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." -2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NKJV)
Our Heavenly Father of mercies and God of all comfort will bring us through any tribulation - great or small - that we may be going through.

In turn, by our Heavenly Father's strength, we can comfort others "who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

Heavenly Father, please comfort us this day and help us to get through through it with joy and Your Heavenly peace. Also, use us to comfort and bless someone today. In Jesus' name!

Stay Strong! Encourage someone today!

Steps To A Great Relationship With God: Step 2

Receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life is step one of Steps to A Great Relationship With God. The first step is crucial as there is no other way one can have a relationship with the God but through Jesus Christ.

"Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." -Jesus (John 14:6 NLT)
The second step to a great relationship with God is to fellowship with the Him on a daily basis by way of prayer and reading your Bible. This prayer and reading combination acts as one, but we will discuss prayer within this post and reading your Bible in step three.

What is prayer?

Prayer is simply calling on the Lord daily at any time of day or night about anything and everything such as:

- When you are anxious1
- When you are weak2
- When praying for someone3
- When you are worried4

...and the list goes on. It's never ending and as you read through the Bible you will see many examples of prayer.

Prayer is important because it builds up your relationship with God. Not only that, it makes it a great relationship. The more you call on the Lord the closer you will get to Him.

The Bible tells us to rejoice in Him, pray consistently and to give thanks to God in everything for that is His will.5

Think of it this way. The more you speak and share your concerns with someone the more they get to know you and same is the opposite. On the contrary, you may see someone all of the time and say hi and bye but you really don't know them. This would be called an acquaintance.

God our Heavenly Father is not an acquaintance but rather our Heavenly Father who desires a relationship with you and I that's far beyond being an acquaintance.

Also, each and every individual's relationship with God is personal just like receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour. It's only between you and Him so call upon Him on a consistent basis.

How does one pray?

You can pray out loud or from the heart. You can pray with other believers or alone. It does not matter as long as you are calling on Him from the heart.

What's the proper prayer stance?

-While talking to someone (if you can multi task)
-While laying down
-Basically any stance is fine. You can be standing on your head and pray, lol.

God is not looking at your prayer stance. He is looking/listening to your heart.6

One final thing. If you feel you are not praying correctly, don't worry as the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us and God knows our heart.Simply call on Him as you would to any person.

Prayer combined with reading equals fellowship with God. In step three, we are going to discuss reading the Bible and the importance of it. We'll also discuss how prayer and reading turns into fellowship with God.

Step three is coming up soon so stay tuned.

Note: I must mention that these steps are only a guideline not actual steps that you must follow.  Pray to the Lord in a manner that is comfortable to you but mean it from the heart and don't waiver8 for He does listen to the prayers of the righteous9 - that's you.

If you would like to share some scripture regarding prayer, please do so in the comments section below.

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." -Ephesians 1:2 (NKJV)

1 Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

2 Romans 8:26 (NKJV) "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

3 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NKJV) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

4 Matthew 6:33-34 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

5 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

6 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV) But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

7 Romans 8:26 (NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

8 James 1:6 (NKJV) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

9 James 5:16 (NKJV) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Don't Miss The Opportunity!

Hey everyone. I'm unaware of what time zone everyone is in but here in the states our day status is Sunday!

Sunday is seen by many as the day to go to church. Seekers, believers and unbelievers alike attend church service at different locations across the country/world.

Today is the day! Sisters and bros let's take this great opportunity that the Lord has given us to go to church and have fellowship with other believers.

"but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." -Hebrews 3:13 (NKJV)
Not only that - let's seek out those we may not know so that we can share Jesus with them.

Things we can do today/Sunday at church:
  1. Smile at someone. Don't look like you just ate a lemon. A simple smile brings joy to a person.
  2. Shake someone's hand and introduce yourself.
  3. Encourage someone. This may change a course of life.
  4. Pray with someone.
Those are just a few things we can do today/Sunday. There are more of course - be creative. Ask the Lord what He would have you to do.

(By the way, we can do this everyday!)

Holy Spirit help us to be a light to our brothers and sisters in Christ and anyone else you may put on our path. In the name of Jesus, we ask!

Pray, Read, Apply - No Compromise!

Steps To A Great Relationship With God: Step 1

Having a great relationship with God brings great peace to all who have been born again in Christ.

All Christians face the many stresses of life. Some of us will face heavy duty trials and tribulation during the course of our lifetime. Some, not so much. Whatever the case may be, there is a way to experiencing peace through anything we face in life and that is by having a great relationship with God our Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

So how do we establish this great relationship with God?

The first and foremost step to having a great relationship with God is to fully, with all your heart, mind and soul accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

There is no other way to God but through Jesus.1

Because of Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection, we have access to God the Father directly if we confess our sins and turn our life over to Him.2

The way to do this is to acknowledge in your heart that you are a sinner and that you fall short of the Glory of God.3

The second thing to do is to ask God for forgiveness for all sin in your life.4 Once you’ve done this, God washes all your sins away5 and you become a new person in Christ.6

(By the way, once you are forgiven then you are forgiven. The Lord will never throw your past sins to your face to make you feel guilty.7)

At this point you have become born again.8 Not only have your sins been forgiven by God, but also when your body passes away, you will be heaven bound and present with the Lord.9

What I’ve mentioned above is the first step to a great relationship with God. Without this first step, it will be impossible to have any relationship with God.10

If you would like to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, simply call on Him today. Don’t worry about what you’ve done in the past or feel that you need to clean up first. Simply come as you are and the Holy Spirit will do the rest.

If you have already established a relationship with Jesus in the past, but are struggling, today is the day to come back to Him. Simply ask for forgiveness with a true heart and then push forward toward Him. He will take care of the rest.

Step Two of steps to a great relationship with God is coming soon so stay tuned.

If you’d like to share additional scriptures that pertain to this, please do so in the comments section.

God bless you!

1 John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

2 Romans 10:8-10 (NKJV) But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

3 Romans 3:23 (NKJV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

4 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

5 1 Corinthians 6:11 (NKJV) And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

6 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

7 Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV) “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.

8 John 3:3 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

9 2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV) We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

10 Isaiah 59:1-2 (NIV) Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
