Let's Do It!

Good morning sisters and brothers in Christ! Before anything else let's do this today...

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." -Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

"you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble." -Proverbs 3:23 (NKJV)

"the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught." -Proverbs 3:26 (NKJV)
Stay Strong!

President Bashing And Other Stuff

Have you ever harshly criticized the current President of the United States? How about our previous President or the one previous to him? Did you talk bad about him and even announce to the world on social media how bad this person is?

Whether it be through thought or verbally spoken, I think we've all been there and done that. I choose to write about this because I saw a bit of president bashing on a social media site the other day. 'What have we become', I thought.

Later, I was watching a documentary on World War II and saw some clips of people bashing President Roosevelt. 'Hmmm, it's been happening all along', I thought.

I totally believe that it's ok to have an opinion after all the Lord did give us a brain to use. But, sometimes the opinions go a bit to far, I think.

A little disclaimer here: I am not perfect whatsoever nor do I claim to be so I speak to myself in this message as well, so here goes.

As believers and followers of Jesus, we should always adhere to scriptural/spiritual guidance before we say or do anything because the world is watching us. As it's been said, our actions may be the only Bible they read so our actions are critical.

Not only that, we may cause a young believer (or any believer at that) to stumble, and we certainly don't want to do that.

The way to obtain spiritual guidance and steer away from the aforementioned negative actions is to first pray.

Calling on the Lord before we speak is always good. This little tongue of ours which produces sounds and words can cause a lot of damage if not guided by the Lord. Speaking of the tongue, scripture says...

"With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. -James 3:9-10 (NKJV)
Another way to obtain scriptural guidance is to read our Bibles...

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." -2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV)
When we read the Bible, we learn who we should be in Christ. For example, when we read something like...

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." -1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NKJV)
Then we know that rather than bashing those in authority, we should instead pray for them because God our Saviour desires that all be saved.

Indeed, the Bible offers much, much more guidance to the believer so today let's declare a new start. Praying, reading and applying His Word and guidance into our lives.

God bless y'all and Stay Strong!

Take In The Living Water And Never Thirst Again!

"Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”" -Jesus (John 4:13-14 NKJV)

The woman of Samaria had a face to face encounter with Jesus and didn't even know it. Totally understandable. Although not face to face, those of us who are now walking with Jesus had the same experience and didn't even know it.

Jesus saved us countless times from ourselves, our foolishness then the day came when the Lord opened our eyes to our sin and thus repentance followed.

As His children, we called on the Lord, asked questions, dug into His Word and He gave us answers.

Today, this day, let's us call on the Lord once again for His guidance and leadership. Let's ask for His living water that we may not thirst again today.

"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”" -Jesus (John 4:23-24 NKJV)
Fill us Holy Spirit to over flowing such that Your mercy, grace and goodness may saturate all those around us.

Stay Strong!

The story of the Samaritan woman is found in John 4:1-26.

hy·poc·ri·sy Revealed

"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,...

and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones." -John (Matthew 3:8-9 NKJV)

John the Baptist spoke these words to the Pharisees and Sadducees who came by to see him baptizing people at the Jordan river.

Jesus describes the Pharisees and Sadducees like this...

"“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness." -Jesus (Matthew 23:27-28 NKJV)
John, a man of God, knew these men were all talk and no action so he called them out on it. John was pretty straight forward, but he also did not overstep his boundaries. He knew that only God can change a person. He was there as a vessel to be used of God to prepare the way of the Lord.

So John told them to bear fruits of true repentance meaning let your inward thoughts match your beautiful outward adornment which depicts conformance to God. Yes, the outside made it seem that they were total, fully devout men of God, but the intentions of the heart were not so. They had no relationship with God. There insides were like "dead men's bones and all uncleanness."

They dressed in all the fine garb as old testament law required and knew all about God but the inside - the heart - was full of judgement, blasphemy, hate and anything else that goes against the Lord. Outward and inward simply did not match up.

The inside of man is what is beautiful to God. He judges and looks at the inward part that is the heart of man. In 1 Samuel 16:7 it says...

"...The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”" -1 Samuel 16:7 NIV
As followers of Jesus, we must be careful not to become like the Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes. But rather the opposite, bearing fruits of repentance that shine the light of Jesus in this dark world we live in. We must seek to follow His way and not our way.

If you've ever been caught up in the way of the Pharisee like I have and still do sometimes, simply repent. Ask God, with a true heart, to forgive you and then start bearing fruits of repentance that His light may shine upon many.

Thank you Jesus for Your grace and mercy. Help all of us who are dependent of You to stay in Your path of righteousness and not be discouraged. In Jesus' name! And all who agreed said...

Stay Strong!

Fully Trusting in God!

1 John 5:4 Sunset Sunrise

"Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife" -Matthew 1:24 (NKJV)

Something totally unexplainable had happened to Joseph. His soon to be wife Mary became pregnant. Problem was... Joseph wasn't the one who got her pregnant.

In the book of Matthew 1:18 it says that Mary had become pregnant by way of the Holy Spirit. (What in the world...!?)

To the scientist this would be considered totally illogical and wacky. This may even sound totally out of the ordinary to the believer - not a normal thing here.

It certainly was out of the ordinary for Joseph as the story goes on to say that Joseph was going to leave Mary. He didn't believe that Mary randomly got pregnant out of thin air. That was not his first thought I'm sure. I know I wouldn't have thought that either.

There was a turn of events though. Joseph, a man who fully trusted in God, ended up not leaving Mary. He stayed with her and pushed forward as a vessel within the Lord's plan.

What changed Joseph's mind? A message from the Lord changed his mind.

He understood that this was an event brought forth by God to fulfill prophecy as it is written...

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel” which is translated, “God with us.”" -Matthew 1:23
A lesson for us to learn here is that even in the toughest times, the greatest of decisions, the most illogical of events or what ever the case we may face, as believers, we need to fully trust in the Lord to get us through just as Joseph did.

I know. I know it's hard. Been through it. Trusting in God takes faith, but if we truly trust Him we must allow Him to get us through all situations.

Faith in God sometimes calls for us to exercise great faith and to trust in Him even when we can't logically see His plan.

I write this to encourage you to stay focused on God. To not waiver. To not attempt to resolve issues on your own. Simply push forward while Jesus leads the way. At the end, you can say 'I did as the Lord commanded.'

Feel free to add some encouraging scriptures below in the comment section.

God bless you and stay strong!

Nothing to Fear!

As a son or daughter of God our Father, we can rest in peace and shun fear of anything because we have our heavenly Father who has our back.

A few months ago I read that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...

Then a few sentences further in Genesis chapter one, I read that God said the following:

"Let there be light..."
"Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters..."
"Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place..."
"Let the earth bring forth grass..."
"Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens..."
"Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures..."
"Let the earth bring forth the living creature..."
"Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness..."
Then I read a special emphasis verse that God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

I was super excited (and still am) as I read it because it describes the person of our Heavenly Father - God.

He is a creator and He is all powerful and not only that He loves His children and protects them. How awesome is that? The creator of the universe and everything that's in it has our back.

Knowing that God has your back, you should be super excited also.

So what's holding you back from letting go of that fear? Ponder the following words from the Bible:

"Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’"
-Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
After you allow the above words to simmer in your heart, write them on the tablet of your heart, that is, memorize them.

If you memorize them, you will be able to easily recall them when you begin to fear.

Thank you Jesus for loving us and saving us! Help us to stay focused on You and Your promises that we may fear nothing.

Stay Strong!

Feeling Full of Joy?

How can you not be joyful when you have been born again? You are a new creation. A new person in Christ. The old things have passed away and all things have become new.

(I'm not only writing to new believers but to the oldies also.)

This is what happened...

All your sins were forgiven, and you became a new person because the Holy Spirit now resides within you.

Other awesome things that happen now that you are in-Christ are...

-You get to read the Bible and understand it.
-You get to converse with the creator of this planet, that is the Lord.
-You get to serve the creator of the universe while you sojourn here on earth.
-You get to share Jesus with everyone.
-When your tent shrivels up and goes away, you get to go to Heaven and finally be with Jesus.

That should be enough to bring you joy, but that's just the tip of the ice berg! There's more awesomeness where that came from!

Nothing in this planet can provide the joy that only the Lord brings through His goodness upon us.

Ok, so you've received Jesus and you're not joyful.

Why? I'm not sure.

But, God your/our Father is sure, and He loves His children. He does not want you to be an unhappy son or daughter. Would you want your son or daughter or best friend, wife or husband or anyone for that matter to be unhappy?

Of course you answered no. The Lord thinks the same (but, of course, way beyond our human thought process).

Ok, so how do I become full of the Lord's joy?

Let's start with the basics. Ask the Lord with a true pure heart to forgive you of your sins and then to add joy to that super clean slate of yours.

Keep this as an ongoing thing and add fellowship time with the Lord. An example would be to read and fellowship with the Lord in the morning to start the day off right. That breakfast with Jesus time will fire you up for the day.

As you do this on a daily basis, you will either slowly but surely begin to experience His joy or His joy may present itself to you in an instant. (Yes, God can do that.)

One final thing. Remember to put away sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

The old baggage can cause you to lag as you push forward so leave the old stuff behind. As a matter of fact, leave it at the foot of the cross and look to Jesus to take care of it.

Now you are on your way to a life full of joy.

God bless you and stay focused on Jesus!
