TCH Memory Verse of the Week
Memory verse extravaganza week! We have four verses to put to memory this week. No worries if you are unable to. At minimum, put at least one to memory. The following memory verses relate to temptation.
We all battle or will battle temptation at one time or another. Memorizing scripture will help you in this time of need.
As you call on the Lord, during trials, He will help you to recall the verses you've memorized. At that point, simply stir them up in your mind and in your heart and then give it all to the Lord. Totally let Him guide you through it.
Since many of us use a cellphone, I've created images with scripture so that you can download to your phone and set it as your phone wallpaper.
They worked on my phone. Only one thing. I had to pinch the image to make it the size of the phone background. This is a test run so let me know if it works for you in the comments section below.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
There is no temptation that is extraordinary, that man hasn't experienced. God knows your heart and does not want you to fall. 100% of times when we fall is because of our doing. Our Heavenly Father has provided a way of escape from temptation. One basic way to get away from temptation is to flee from it just like Joseph did. He fled and did not look back.
Hebrews 4:15-16 (NKJV) "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
There is nothing new under the sun. Our Heavenly Father knows everything to include our weaknesses. Jesus was tempted in all areas as we are but He did not sin. Because of that we can fully rely on His grace and mercy as we experience temptations and at times stumble. Call on Jesus in time of need.
Matthew 26:41 (NKJV) "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”"
Our faith in Jesus is a call to action. As believers we need to watch, keep our eyes open, so that we don't get ensnared in the enemy's trap. As believers we also need to pray to God for daily and sometimes minute by minute guidance. Although our spirit seeks to serve the Lord well, our mortal body desires pretty much everything that is contrary to the Lord. Watch and pray!!!
And renew a steadfast spirit within me."
Have you stumbled and fallen but you kinda want to stay down because you feel to weak? GET UP! DO NOT STAY DOWN! That is what the enemy of our souls wants. He wants you to stay down. Rather, call on our Heavenly Father and ask Him for forgiveness with a true heart. Then, ask Him to create in you a clean heart and to renew your spirit so that you can push forward again. Remember, DO NOT STAY DOWN!
God bless you! Stay Strong!!
