The Word of God pulls no punches and I am so thankful for that! We need to know both the good and the bad. Check out the following verse... 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 (ESV) 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. Paul was speaking of the "false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ" (2 Cor. 11:13), being used of satan, that were amongst those in Corinth. These fake apostles were delivering fake news and thus deceiving vulnerable baby Christians and others (see vv1-4). Current time. We also need to be aware that there are many, many fakes out there who are trying to deceive as many as possible into the kingdom of hell. What's even more terrible is that Christians are being deceived by these fakes. So how do we avoid this? We can avoid this by 1) Praying daily and throughout…
It has been a couple of years since we've been planning and praying about going out into the streets of San Bernardino and putting up a prayer table.
A couple of months ago or so we finally decided on a date, time and location, and it finally came to fruition this morning at 6am.
We set up on the corner of 5th and "E" streets in San Bernardino.
Justin was the first to arrive to location at about 5:55am and immediately encountered a fellow named Jackson who was walking up 5th street.
Mario was next to arrive and when I arrived about 6:10, both Mario and Justin were in deep conversation with Jackson who said he was a believer in Jesus.
A few minutes later, Cesar arrived and so we all ended up praying for Jackson and thanked him for encouraging us. Jackson had no physical Bible with him, but he has the Word of God hidden in his heart 1. That was very encouraging to us. We should all have the scripture hidden in our hearts so that if we don't have a Bible on hand, we can…
After nineteen years, Estella and I have finally attended a couples retreat.
It was our first ever retreat and what a blessing it was.
We arrived on Friday, 10 Feb 2017 around 5:30pm. Although there was a lot of traffic, the drive from San Bernardino wasn't bad. Some areas were slow, but the traffic flowed pretty smooth.
We checked in and got our keys to our room. When we got to our room, we opened the door and walked into the smallest room ever. The super tiny room mimicked Lucy and Ricky Ricardo's bedroom setup. I quickly re-arranged the two twin beds into a super twin and then helped Estella unpack. Afterward, we were going to go to the book store, but found out it was already closed. Not a problem, we went straight to the coffee shop. We stayed there until dinner time at 7pm.
We met another couple at dinner, which was great. The fellowship was great also. After dinner, we went to the first session of the retreat. There we received an introduction then went into worship. D…
