Proclaim the Good News!

Image
“When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.””
-‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:37-40‬ ‭NIV‬‬ I love these verses above because they paint a picture of a large group of people who are raising their voices for the Lord and giving Him glory for all that he has done.
Today we have stadiums full of people who will scream to the top of their lungs in support for the sports team that they are watching. I have done the same thing at sporting events or in my house if I get really excited about a game.
There is nothing wrong with screaming and cheering so loud for a team that we get a sore throat the next day, but my question is…

Total Confidence

Image
"My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!" -Psalms 57:7 (NLT)The young, soon to be king, David, cried out to our Heavenly Father the words above as he ran away from King Saul who wanted to kill him.

These were frightening times for David, but he endured by keeping his full trust in our Heavenly Father.

During these times, David did not waver in his faith, and he also completely walked in the way of righteousness. Because of this, his confidence in our Heavenly Father grew more and more every day.

Great confidence in our Heavenly Father filled his heart and thus David rejoiced and praised Him during these times of turmoil and certain death.

I encourage you, as I have, to place your full trust in Jesus so that when you arrive to that place of turmoil, your confidence in Him will not waver. Instead, it will grow so strong that you will sing praises to Him just like the young David.

May the Lord richly bless you and keep you stron…
